For fluids composed of complex molecules, a limited thermodynamic region exists, at high reduced temperature and pressure close to the dew-line (dense-vapour region), whereby the fundamental derivative of gas dynamics G assumes negative values. In such region the gas-dynamic flow features are reversed with respect to the gas dynamics of perfect gases, and nonclassical phenomena are theoretically predicted. This paper investigates the nonclassical gas dynamics of multi-component fluids, starting from equation of state models applicable to mixtures. Simulations of the flow field around a corner are performed, and the influence of the mixture composition on the predicted gasdynamic behaviour is shown.
