BELLEZZA E ARMONIA DELL'ACQUA. ANALISI E PROSPETTIVE DEL FIUME TIMAVO/REKA. CHARMING SHAPE OF WATER. ANALYSIS FOR THE FUTURE OF THE TIMAVO/REKA RIVER.

L’ambito delle foci del Timavo/Reka rappresenta, non solo per il Comune di Duino Aurisina, un luogo carico di memoria e tra i più notevoli del panorama naturalistico e fisico –antropico del sistema carsico a livello internazionale. Per la comprensione globale di questo paesaggio sarà quindi necessario considerare l’insieme di elementi interagenti, sia a livello quantitativo che qualitativo, con gli strumenti del rilievo e della rappresentazione. Il principale risultato atteso è l’opportunità di iscrivere l’ambito nella lista dei siti notevoli dell’UNESCO, per raccordarsi in modo sinergico con il Parco di Škocjan e costituire così un unico Parco transfrontaliero. È possibile che il fiume possa attivare esperienze di pianificazione e tutela condivise, dando così la possibilità alla popolazione locale di riprendersi il territorio che storicamente è sempre stato un unicum. Questo fenomeno naturalistico, di rilevante interesse nel contesto del patrimonio naturale internazionale, potrà così diventare anche il presupposto della riconciliazione tra uomo e uomo e il suo territorio. The area of the mouths of the Timavo/Reka river is an unique Karst place in the world, with its strong resources about nature, history, archaeology, cultural and traditional architecture. To understand the complexity of this place, and the related context, it might be very important to consider in a strong way all the elements of the underground and ground systems, processing known and supposed data. In order to consider that this place must be investigated by at least two levels, as a whole and its details, it’s evident that the output of the knowledge, managed with strong survey and the specific drawing of it, have to show all potentiality in qualitative and quantitative aspects, . The aim of the project “Discovering Timavo River” is to include the site in the UNESCO World Heritage List, to link to Škocjan Park and to create a crossborder Karst Park. At the same time, this could be a great occasion to start planning and to define defense actions that will experience Italy and Slovenja together, to find out a new vision whose assumption is to activate reconciliation between people and their land.
