Given the growing importance of sustainability studies in supply chain management, this paper aims at identifying the existing relationships among three main drivers – compliance to regulations, search for competitive advantage and improvement of internal and external relations - and sustainable supply chain practices adoption. Both environmental and social practices considering source, make and deliver practices have been included in the analysis. A survey research in the food industry in Italy has been conducted given the importance of this industry for the Italian economy and for sustainability issues. Results show that compliance to regulations is related to both internal and external social and environmental logistics practices adoption. The search for competitive advantage leads mainly to the adoption of internal social and environmental practices. Finally the aim to improve internal and external relations is positively related with the adoption of internal and external proactive practices related to both social and environmental issues.

Abstract
Finally the aim to improve internal and external relations is positively related with the adoption of internal and external proactive practices related to both social and environmental issues.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
