This paper aims at identifying the existing relationships among three main drivers and sustainable supply chain practices adoption, by considering both environmental and social practices. A survey in the food industry in Italy has been conducted. Results show that compliance to regulations is related to both internal and external social and environmental logistic practices adoption. The search for competitive advantage leads mainly to the adoption of internal social and environmental practices. Finally the aim to improve internal and external relations is positively related with the adoption of internal and external proactive practices.
