Apparatus (1) for the personal protection, which comprises at least one main control unit (CU1) which is connected to one or more main sensors (9.10) and to a first main transceiver (T11) for transmitting and receiving on a first radio channel control signals and/or activation signals (AS), wherein the main control unit (CU1) is also connected to a second main transceiver (T12) for transmitting and receiving on a second radio channel control signals and/or activations signals (AS). The present invention also realtes to vehicles and a system which comprise such an apparatus, a secondary apparatus and a protective garment which can communicate with such an apparatus, as well as a process which can be carried out by this system.
