Apparatus (2,3) for personal protection, which comprises a secondary control unit (CU2) which is connected to at least one firing controller (FC) and to at least one first secondary transceiver (T21) for transmitting and receiving on a first radio channel control signals and/or activations signals (AS), wherein the secondary control unit (CU2) is connected to a smart-card readedr (SR) for reading an identification code stored in a smart-card and transmitting this identification code from the secondary transceiver (T21) in a control signal. The present invention relates to a protective garment and a system which comprises such an apparatus, a main apparatus and vehicles which can communicate with such an apparatus, as well as a process which can be carried out by theis system.
