Optical design calculations are presented for a 3X compound parabolic concentrator (CPC) to determine the coupling with hybrid photovoltaic thermal (HPV/T) systems. Height-toaperture and reflector-area to aperture-area ratios, as well as the average number of reflections for radiation passing through the inside and outside acceptance angles for a full and truncated CPC, have been calculated.

Abstract
