This paper is about reusing content for developing families of applications in the cultural heritage field. ‘Reuse’ is a way to enrich the variety of user experiences, while keeping costs down. Reuse needs adaptation of content to different contexts. Reuse and adaptation need authoring methodologies and tools. This paper presents a comprehensive model for content reuse-adaption and an innovative authoring approach. The approach is supported by 1001stories, an advanced authoring-delivery toolkit. Examples of the approach are drawn from Nippon Multimedia, a family of applications developed to support four exhibitions about Japanese culture, held in Lugano in winter 2010 (www.nipponlugano.ch).
