the degrade of two of Lorenzo Lotto 's frescoes, in St. Barbara and Brigida church at Trescore Balenario, is getting to the loss of one of the XVI century masterpieces. The frescoes, of undoubted artistic and historic value, have been preserved up today without ant defacement or intervention and are arousing new interest amonf the art historians thanks to the recent results of Arnold Nasselrath's research. After the celebrations of 1998, they have been visited by much more people in the last three years, as privileged stage of Lotto itineary. An opportune adaptation of the small building was therefore necessary to allow the visitors in and avoid possible damages due to the exposition. Nevertheless, the most degrade seems to get slowly but unoavoidable worse. The soprintendenza has therefore promoted a studies campaign, beginning cognitive controls in May 1999, of which a preliminary report on thermohygrometric monitoring of walls and micriclimatic conditions is here given
