Abstract

It is offered a new topological approach for the transformation of symmetrical components (TCS) besides the usual matrix method. This allows a better circuital comprehending and, also throw a more intuitional process, an improvement and integration of the traditional analytical presentation. Furthermore, the application of graph theory gives the way to treat asymmetrical faults by a general reduction to symmetrical three-phase configuration. For practical applications, the competitive advantage of TCS, proper of symmetrical networks so far, is here confirmed - by direct topological way - also for the asymmetrical faults analysis.
