The application of variational formulations for the rigid-plastic dynamic analysis problem is still appealing, whenever their use, combined with suitable numerical procedures, shows improvements of the computational effort, reducing the number of loading steps required by the temporal discretization and the number of iterations required by the non-linearities. Our purpose is to apply some recent variational principle, introducing a new rigid-plastic beam finite element.

Abstract
The application of variational formulations for the rigid-plastic dynamic analysis problem is still appealing, whenever their use, combined with suitable numerical procedures, shows improvements of the computational effort, reducing the number of loading steps required by the temporal discretization and the number of iterations required by the non-linearities. Our purpose is to apply some recent variational principle, introducing a new rigid-plastic beam finite element.File in questo prodotto:
