This paper discusses new developments in the application of Sequential Modular and Evolutionary Models methods to process optimization by adopting a hybrid path method. Results are presented from implementation of both strategies in an existing sequential modular simulator, PRISMA, which has been linked to the SPYRO program for the ethylene furnaces simulation.
