A general program for dynamic simulation of multicomponent fractionating units is presented and discussed. Namely, possible effects of liquid and vapor holdups, as well as the distinction between downcomer and active zone of the trays are investigated. Fluid dynamic correlations are available for simulating different tray geometries and lay-outs, therefore tray efficiencies can be taken into account. Several examples are presented in order to show typical applications of the program for operation, design and control purposes.

Abstract
A general program for dynamic simulation of multicomponent fractionating units is presented and discussed. Namely, possible effects of liquid and vapor holdups, as well as the distinction between downcomer and active zone of the trays are investigated. Fluid dynamic correlations are available for simulating different tray geometries and lay-outs, therefore tray efficiencies can be taken into account. Several examples are presented in order to show typical applications of the program for operation, design and control purposes.File in questo prodotto:
