The stagewise collocation method is applied to reduce the full-order models used for simulating multistage separation units. In particular we refer to steady-state, high-purity (x(D) up to 0.9999) and symmetric (x(B) = 1 - x(D)) binary distillation columns. The performance of these reduced-order models is represented in a master plot which provides, rather synthetically, the model error as a function of the reduction order.

Abstract
The stagewise collocation method is applied to reduce the full-order models used for simulating multistage separation units. In particular we refer to steady-state, high-purity (x(D) up to 0.9999) and symmetric (x(B) = 1 - x(D)) binary distillation columns. The performance of these reduced-order models is represented in a master plot which provides, rather synthetically, the model error as a function of the reduction order.File in questo prodotto:
