Adsorption processes for separating mixtures of dimethylnaphthalene (DMN) isomers are of potential interest for the production of 2,6-DMN. In this work, the adsorption equilibria of Liquid mixtures of DMN isomers on zeolites have been investigated experimentally. The separation factors between the various isomers have been found to depend strongly on the composition of the fluid phase. A suitable equilibrium model, based on the adsorbed solution theory, has been developed to describe the multicomponent adsorption equilibria in the entire:range of interest. Its performance has been tested using binary and ternary equilibrium data.

Abstract
Adsorption processes for separating mixtures of dimethylnaphthalene (DMN) isomers are of potential interest for the production of 2,6-DMN. In this work, the adsorption equilibria of Liquid mixtures of DMN isomers on zeolites have been investigated experimentally. The separation factors between the various isomers have been found to depend strongly on the composition of the fluid phase. A suitable equilibrium model, based on the adsorbed solution theory, has been developed to describe the multicomponent adsorption equilibria in the entire:range of interest. Its performance has been tested using binary and ternary equilibrium data.File in questo prodotto:
