The high Mach number flow of a rarefied gas about a delta wing has been numerically investigated by Koura's Null Collision DSMC method. Hard sphere interaction has been assumed to occur between the gas molecules and the effects of the internal degrees of freedom modeled by Borgnakke-Larsen. Numerical results in the cases of a monatomic and a diatomic gas have been obtained and compared with the recent experimental results by Legge.

Abstract

The high Mach number flow of a rarefied gas about a delta wing has been numerically investigated by Koura's Null Collision DSMC method.
