Abstract
The design in a low-density area, divided by the physical and mental barrier represented by the main road, tries to create a generative method of transformation. The new “cellular urban development” based on factors as proximity, sustainability and relations aims to produce a certain degree of connectivity starting from the cell, basic unit of the process of regeneration. The “space in between” cells generates a continuous deformation and mutation of the master plan, due to programmatic, morphologic and topographic issues, in order to achieve flexibility in ‘change of use’ within short and long time periods. A new thick multifunctional soil associated with a generic and flexible network are the new urban “glue”, that enables the flexible use of spaces and gives the opportunity to adapt different typologies of buildings.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
