The main target of advanced medical workforce management is to guarantee the efficiency and fairness of the service delivered. To this aim the development of accurate performance models and the management based on forecasted demand are key issues to deal with. In this paper, we report some solution approaches mainly based on Optimization and Petri Nets models.
