A system to electronically redefine the lateral behavior of four-wheeled vehicles is proposed and its implementation described. More specifically wheel individual braking is used to redefine the behavior of the vehicle when accelerating in a corner. By defining an appropriate yaw rate reference the under-steering behavior typical of front wheel drive cars is corrected.

Abstract

A system to electronically redefine the lateral behavior of four-wheeled vehicles is proposed and its implementation described.
