The paper explains a research activity conducted by UdR Interni of the Indaco Department of the Polytechnic of Milan, following the objective of outlining plans for an innovative "City of Youth", in which the reconfiguration of abandoned places could be addressed – designing appropriate interior spaces able to prefigure the directions of their use and able to provide unique dynamic of meaning. The additional challenge consistes in generating a value of urban renewal for the entire city.
