The paper reviews the achievements of the research groups of Politecnico di Milano in the field of biosensors and molecular imaging. Biosensors are covered both in term of devices for the investigation of the functional properties of biological compound and in term of affinity biosensor, in which biomolecules are used as detecting medium, allowing high selectivity and sensitivity. Within this context, the realization of proper electrode surfaces and dedicated instrumentation-on-chip is highlighted as a mean toward label-free, high-throughput, low-cost miniaturized devices. Time domain fluorescence mapping and X-ray diffraction imaging are instead described as the most advanced tools for deepening the investigations on tissues and DNA.

Abstract
The paper reviews the achievements of the research groups of Politecnico di Milano in the field of biosensors and molecular imaging. Biosensors are covered both in term of devices for the investigation of the functional properties of biological compound and in term of affinity biosensor, in which biomolecules are used as detecting medium, allowing high selectivity and sensitivity. Within this context, the realization of proper electrode surfaces and dedicated instrumentation-on-chip is highlighted as a mean toward label-free, high-throughput, low-cost miniaturized devices. Time domain fluorescence mapping and X-ray diffraction imaging are instead described as the most advanced tools for deepening the investigations on tissues and DNA.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
