The present invention regards a method and related kit for carrying out a diagnostic antibiogram test. In particular, the present invention regards a kit for carrying out a clin. antibiogram anal. comprising one or more supports made of hydrocarbon material functionalized with monomers chosen from among glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and its diol deriv., acrylic acid and its derivs., N-vinylpyrrolidone, acrylamide and its derivs., and vinyl acetate, said support being loaded with a known and predefined quantity of an antibiotic agent. Cellulose disks were functionalized with glycidyl methacrylate and then treated with strongly ionic aq. soln. contg. 1 M NaCl. Three sets of disks were then inserted into flasks contg. either Rifocin, ceftazidime, or amoxicillin to load predefined quantities of antibiotics. Culture broths contg. Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli were spread on agar in Petri dishes. Antibiotic disks were placed on the cultures and obsd. for the presence or absence of bacterial growth inhibition zones around the disks.
