This work investigates the ideation of architectural project in its relationship to the city construction, searching a hidden order of the form. City development redefines the hierarchies between the entities it is made of. Therefore archaeological excavation and its founding principles can be considered as a key reference for this project, developed first for academic research and in 2004 for the International Design Competition “Darsena” (special mention). The Darsena, an artificial basin connected to the canal system, is thought as a new grande piazza of south Milan, at the end of the “archaeological promenade”, linking Milan to its territory.

Abstract
This work investigates the ideation of architectural project in its relationship to the city construction, searching a hidden order of the form. City development redefines the hierarchies between the entities it is made of. Therefore archaeological excavation and its founding principles can be considered as a key reference for this project, developed first for academic research and in 2004 for the International Design Competition “Darsena” (special mention). The Darsena, an artificial basin connected to the canal system, is thought as a new grande piazza of south Milan, at the end of the “archaeological promenade”, linking Milan to its territory.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
