In the last decades in many industries firms’ profitability is more and more related to their ability to manage complex relationships: information sharing with supply chain partners is a key element. This paper is aimed at analyzing the impact of the firm’s position in the supply chain on the degree of information sharing with customers and suppliers. A multivariate regression model and cluster analysis on IMSS 4 data have been performed and the relevance of the position of firm’s boundaries has been demonstrated.
