The paper deals with the analysis of an active power filter with two legs for three-phase systems. Although the converter topology is not symmetric, a suitable control of the power switches allows the achievement of balanced currents. The control technique for the compensation of the harmonics and reactive power of the load is derived directly from the mathematical model of the converter. The reference signals of the currents are used for the space vector modulation (SVM) both for balanced and unbalanced voltages of the dc-link capacitors. Numerical simulations validate the proposed control showing the capabilities of the active filter in reducing the total harmonic distortion and reactive powers in supplying of the source currents.

Abstract
The paper deals with the analysis of an active power filter with two legs for three-phase systems. Although the converter topology is not symmetric, a suitable control of the power switches allows the achievement of balanced currents. The control technique for the compensation of the harmonics and reactive power of the load is derived directly from the mathematical model of the converter. The reference signals of the currents are used for the space vector modulation (SVM) both for balanced and unbalanced voltages of the dc-link capacitors. Numerical simulations validate the proposed control showing the capabilities of the active filter in reducing the total harmonic distortion and reactive powers in supplying of the source currents.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
