Abstract

This paper deals with the dynamical modeling of squirrel cage rotors in induction motors. A simple mathematical model is presented in order to analytically identify the torsional eigenfrequencies, based on the estimation of the effective length of the bar overhang. A satisfactory agreement between experimental results and theoretical estimations is achieved.
