In this work we introduce a research finalized to the design of a new line of lighting products led by the manufacturer Artemide with the cooperation of the Laboratorio Luce of Politecnico di Milano. In this case study it will be shown the way the results, coming from other disciplines, such as physiology and photometric metrology, find a practical application in the development process of a new lighting product. The results of this research have been applied in developing the new line of lighting fixtures “My White Light”, giving scientific and applicative basics to prove that colored linear fluorescent lamps, allowed the realization of domestic interior luminaries that, other than just have low power consumption and long life, may positively affect the mood of people.
