In view of applications, we review and improve the reduction theory, both by restriction and by projection, of the geometric structures which are defined by well-coupled pre-symplectic, Poisson and Nijenhuis tensors. These structures characterize the non linear evolution equations which are integrable by the inverse spectral transform method.
