Public health is recognized by the new social, environmental and economic standards as a valuable resource that must be preserved and improved. The promotion of health needs a new system of health building that can answer to the new social demand. In this scenario, the “Health City” constitutes a complex building with integrated functions and services (health support, research, development, hospitality, technology and business incubator) that enhances the quality of health services. The “Health City” is a “new function” in which the treatment of diseases is the generative element of the system but non necessarily the primary function. This paper presents a meta-project that has been created with the aim to identify the correct balance between the different functions in order to create a synergetic interaction between the activities that form the “Health City”.
