The issue of this paper explores the way in which the twentieth-century architecture have deteriorated as it has aged, focusing on their exposed concrete structure. The aim is to propose a standard lexicon: definition connected with systematic descriptions of the pathologies afflicting the different buildings. Text and photographs chart the relation between deterioration and a number of factors, from contruction data and methods, to location, use and environment.
