Abstract

The specific contribution of the architectural design Modeling approach – characterized as real 3Dimensional, Object Oriented, parametric and “Interoperable” based on the Open-Source IAI – IFC Standard, engrafting on building branches the cognitive technologies that can fit architectural design peculiarities, relating to an explicit knowledge base. The described modeling approach by contemporary software modeling environments allows a much more effective design process, specially requiring a much shorter time for the issuing of effective and relatively rich design solutions; one the main advantages fruit of this asset of embedded knowledge into elaboration environments is the possibility of comparing the qualities of a multiplicity of alternative design solutions. Ventilated Façades are inquired in European research communities as one of the major opportunities to produce robust energy - saving practices in building construction and operation along their whole life-cycle
