The phenomenological chain of the sediment motion in mountain environments is here considered, with specifi c reference to the Tartano basin (situated in the Sondrio province). We analyzed the sediment yield from the valley slopes, as well as the consequent sediment transport along the water courses; we used the typical tools of applied geology and fl uvial hydraulics. The yearly sediment production is qualitatively and quantitativelydescribed; in the same way, the annual sediment volume potentially conveyed by the torrents is evaluated. The reliability of the results obtained is tested vs. few available fi eld data; the latter refers to the siltation of an artifi cial reservoir. Feasibility, limits and potentialities of jointly modelling the hydro-geologic phenomena are discussed. The proposed procedure is here applied to a specifi c test case, yet it aims to be a prototypal methodology, applicable to different territorial realities.

Abstract
The proposed procedure is here applied to a specifi c test case, yet it aims to be a prototypal methodology, applicable to different territorial realities.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
