Abstract

In order to improve the performances of the overall design process of products, it would be beneficial the availability of computer-aided ools supporting conceptual design and simulation activities within an integrated environment based on a multi-disciplinary model paradigm and supporting more intuitive interaction modalities. The paper presents an integrated environment named PUODARSI that allows designers to modify the shape of a product through haptic interaction and to test the impact of these changes from a fluid-dynamic viewpoint. The environment includes modelling and analysis tools that are integrated by means of shared data models
