In this article a preliminary numeric analysis regarding tram-railway vehicles of new conception is presented; in particular the advantages that can be achieved with the use of a suitable driving system control logic are illustrated. Exploiting the truck's characteristics (separately controlled independent wheels) it is possible to optimise the vehicle dynamic behaviour, both in terms of taking of curves and straight line running. The basic idea is to control truck dynamics, exploiting the torque that can be transmitted to the wheels by the single motors. The advantages of this solution are numerous: higher safety level as far as derailment is concerned, tyres and rails wear reduction, best acoustic and vibration comfort. The article describes the electromechanical model utilised to simulate the vehicle dynamic behaviour and the proposed control system logic. Some significant numeric results are moreover illustrated; they show the advantages of the solution proposed for taking of narrow radius curves.

Abstract
Some significant numeric results are moreover illustrated; they show the advantages of the solution proposed for taking of narrow radius curves.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
