A novel wavelength converter exploiting Kerr-due birefringence in a standard DS fiber based on a Kerr shutter architecture is proposed. A brief comparison with other common path configurations is presented. Wavelength conversion at 3 Gbit/s is achieved by employing standard EDFA for drive signal amplification.

Abstract
A novel wavelength converter exploiting Kerr-due birefringence in a standard DS fiber based on a Kerr shutter architecture is proposed. A brief comparison with other common path configurations is presented. Wavelength conversion at 3 Gbit/s is achieved by employing standard EDFA for drive signal amplification.File in questo prodotto:
