Abstract
Numerical solutions of nonlinear stress analysis problems are traditionally based on the finite element method. Here, we introduce a new formulation based on the application of the ‘initial stress’ computational process to the spectral collocation approximation. We also consider domain decomposition methods in order to handle complex geometries and non-smooth data. We present several numerical results concerning benchmark problems in geomechanics.File in questo prodotto:
