Abstract

The topic "The new methods of surveying and communication of the architecture history" re-enters in the most general argument of the methods of surveying and communication as they are evoluted in the last few decades. From writing to printing, to radio-television, to virtual world and to communication on-line. The path followed by the communication passes from the textual description to the combined use of text and pictorial or photographic images in order to reach the film or the `pasoliniano' audiovisual made of slides and sonorous comment. The communication modalities change and assignes always greater care to the visual part of the communication, it happens that a communication based on the combined use of audio and video has one effectiveness more than double with regard to the same communication `monochannel'. The users prefer to watch more than to read. Some examples are the new press formats of consumption always more oriented towards images accompanied by a text. The convergence towards a new type of communication determined from the action of a series of new technologies: hypermedia, image of synthesis, virtual reality, telecommunication nets and other again determine the necessity to redefine the roles on the market by creating new poles of aggregation between software, telecommunications and industry of the entertainment. The "virtual funnel" and the history of the architecture are particularly linked to relationship as the base components of what we can define`virtual funnel', hypermedia, synthesis image and virtual reality must be considered innovative tools extremely powerful for the communication of the history of the architecture. The potentialities of the hypermedia in the historical field are certain as the hypertextual structure of the communication concur to easily lead more topics in parallel (speech on more layers) with the possibility for the reader to cross the layers by earning a total historical vision that sweeps from the specific events to the contemporary events to the general historical context being able to deepen as much as one likes everyone of the topics handled. The additional multimedia potentialities concur to complete the communication enriching it of static images, film and virtual environments visitable interactively. Thus considering time by time the `media' and the most efficient technique. My contribution analyzes the historical path of the communication, the problems regarging the transmission of structured information, the perceptive aspects and the qualities of the new digital products not neglecting them of the ontological aspects and accompanying the reader in the consultation of the text through some examples.
