We describe the design of a system to bring a given mass of gas up to the temperature and pressure conditions apt to strongly expand it through de Laval nozzles generating hypersonic jets. These ones are intended to simulate in laboratory the dynamical properties of stellar jets, which are characterized by a peculiar morphology due to the interaction of the concomitant shock systems and large-scale vortices. The visualization of the field of motion will be done by means of the electron beam technique. The relevant electron gun system as been designed for this specific experiment.
