The paper describes an investigation carried out at different levels on the Basilica of S. Lorenzo at Cremona (12th century, Italy), aimed to understand the historical evolution of the church, the construction techniques corresponding to the different phases and characterized by different masonry morphology, the geometry of the building including the survey of the crack pattern in its spatial development. Non-destructive techniques were also applied for the mechanical characterization of the building and the numerical modeling of one pillar.

Abstract
