Abstract
Advanced synchronization networks are provided with monitoring systems that allow verifying continuously, in real time, the performance achieved in timing distribution. In this paper, centralized and decentralized strategies for performance monitoring in synchronization networks are first outlined, by highlighting system architectures, advantages and drawbacks. Then, advanced algorithms for implementation in performance monitoring cards of state-of-the-art network clocks are proposed. The methods outlined in this paper allow the engineer to successfully cope with the issue of proactively monitor network synchronization performance, in order to detect timing degradations before they impact service.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
