Il Museo Moderno. Architettura e museografia da Perret a Kahn

Tra gli anni Venti e Sessanta del Novecento, il museo cambia profondamente rispetto alle strutture consolidate che hanno caratterizzato questa istituzione nei due secoli precedenti. Si tratta di un processo che vede il museo, coinvolto nel dibattito intorno ai temi della 'modernità', affrontare la sua capacità di adattarsi alle sfide poste dai nuovi aspetti della società e della cultura. Un rinnovamento degli obiettivi che interessa sia la disciplina museografica, 'nuova scienza' del progetto, sia la conoscenza museologica, entrambi strumenti che mettono in discussione il senso e lo scopo del museo e le sue relazioni con il pubblico. Between the Twenties and the Sixties of the Twentieth Century, the museum has changed deeply from the consolidated structures that have characterized this institution in the two previous centuries. It is a process that sees the museum institution, involved in the debate around the issues of ‘modernity’, confronts its ability to adapt to the challenges of the new aspects of society and culture. A renewal of goals and objectives that brings the museographical discipline, ‘new science’ of the project, to work alongside the museological knowledge,both instruments of questioning the meaning and purpose of the museum and its relationships to the public.
