This review gives a general overview of the reactions catalyzed by N-hydroxyphthalimide and related compounds. It focuses on processes ranging from commercial production of chemicals, such as adipic and terephthalic acid, to fine chemicals such as those discussed in the sections on C-N and C-C bond formation. The synthetic and reaction mechanisms aspects are critically rewieved, as well a great consideration is given to the thermodynamic and kinetic issues concerning the nitroxyl radicals involved in the catalytic procesess.

Abstract
This review gives a general overview of the reactions catalyzed by N-hydroxyphthalimide and related compounds. It focuses on processes ranging from commercial production of chemicals, such as adipic and terephthalic acid, to fine chemicals such as those discussed in the sections on C-N and C-C bond formation. The synthetic and reaction mechanisms aspects are critically rewieved, as well a great consideration is given to the thermodynamic and kinetic issues concerning the nitroxyl radicals involved in the catalytic procesess.File in questo prodotto:
