Mud pulse telemetry is one of the most common methods for transmission of downhole information in measurement-while-drilling processes. However the presence of various noise contributors can dramatically reduce the speed quality and reliability of signal transmission. The principal noise sources are the mud pumps and the reverberations of the signal inside the drillstring. In this study we evaluate the effects of adaptive noise reduction and equalization on the mud pulse telemetry performance.

Abstract
Mud pulse telemetry is one of the most common methods for transmission of downhole information in measurement-while-drilling processes. However the presence of various noise contributors can dramatically reduce the speed quality and reliability of signal transmission. The principal noise sources are the mud pumps and the reverberations of the signal inside the drillstring. In this study we evaluate the effects of adaptive noise reduction and equalization on the mud pulse telemetry performance.File in questo prodotto:
