The aesthetical and sensorial characterization of design materials

This research is developed as investigation of the categories of the materials’ aspect and their surfaces. The primary intent is the close examination and the definition of the notation system, of the aesthetical characterization parameters and of the sensorial perception factors, that furnishes useful criteria for a classification of design materials. The aim is the construction of theoretical bases to realize a project’s tool that can bring a contribution to the culture of industrial design, and can help to explain and to define the complex picture of the phenomenological, perceptive and sensorial aspects of the materials and their surfaces.
