This opening chapter introduces the CirCLER project and the reasoning behind this volume. It explains why the circular transition of the furniture sector cannot be understood by looking at regulation, business models, design, technology and training separately, and why this book treats them instead as connected parts of a single process. The chapter presents the origins, partnership and goals of CirCLER, a three-year Erasmus+ initiative that developed the Circular Economy Transition Manager (CETM) as a new professional profile for the sector. It shows how the eleven chapters that follow are organised, reflects on the variety of perspectives the volume brings together, briefly describes how CirCLER’s results were built and tested, clarifies who the book is written for, and closes with a short, practical summary for furniture companies.

Abstract
This opening chapter introduces the CirCLER project and the reasoning behind this volume. It explains why the circular transition of the furniture sector cannot be understood by looking at regulation, business models, design, technology and training separately, and why this book treats them instead as connected parts of a single process. The chapter presents the origins, partnership and goals of CirCLER, a three-year Erasmus+ initiative that developed the Circular Economy Transition Manager (CETM) as a new professional profile for the sector. It shows how the eleven chapters that follow are organised, reflects on the variety of perspectives the volume brings together, briefly describes how CirCLER’s results were built and tested, clarifies who the book is written for, and closes with a short, practical summary for furniture companies.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
