Within recent academic debate, the fashion archive is no longer understood as a mere repository of knowledge, but as an epistemic infrastructure capable of generating new forms of critical knowledge and design practice. This perspective is reflected in the activities of the Gianfranco Ferré Research Centre at Politecnico di Milano, where the archive is interpreted as a living cultural heritage through research and experimentation processes aimed at transmitting design knowledge. It is within this framework that the Lessico Ferré project is situated. The project takes the white shirt from the archive as a didactic and experimental archetype: a device through which to explore, simultaneously, Ferré’s design language and the pedagogical potential of the archival object in the education of designers.

Abstract
Within recent academic debate, the fashion archive is no longer understood as a mere repository of knowledge, but as an epistemic infrastructure capable of generating new forms of critical knowledge and design practice. This perspective is reflected in the activities of the Gianfranco Ferré Research Centre at Politecnico di Milano, where the archive is interpreted as a living cultural heritage through research and experimentation processes aimed at transmitting design knowledge. It is within this framework that the Lessico Ferré project is situated. The project takes the white shirt from the archive as a didactic and experimental archetype: a device through which to explore, simultaneously, Ferré’s design language and the pedagogical potential of the archival object in the education of designers.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
