The spectral range of 2-14 GHz used in VGOS observation is used and requested by the booming telecommunication industry. The need for radio quiet skies in geodetic VLBI does not play a role in new spectrum allocations if the geodetic VLBI community does not articulate it. The IVS together with the European Committee on Radio Astronomy Frequencies is seeking how to get the VGOS stations better protected against unwanted electromagnetic emissions. One option is an Agenda Item on the protection of geodetic VLBI at the World Radio Conference 2031. Abstract
The current status of the spectrum management and some useful information about the Radio Regulations are provided.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
