The term Generative Artificial Intelligence refers to a set of applications based on machine- and deep-learning models capable of producing novel content through the processing of pre-existing data. The ability of these digital systems to represent real or imaginary objects has sparked debate about their potential impacts and about the evolution of the disciplines of drawing and representation. This paper presents a teaching experiment conducted in the 2025-26 academic year within several courses at the Politecnico di Milano, offered in both the Schools of Architecture and Design. The aim of the research is to define a usage protocol that contributes to the formulation of a theoretical model for the teaching and informed use of these tools in the design field.

Abstract
The term Generative Artificial Intelligence refers to a set of applications based on machine- and deep-learning models capable of producing novel content through the processing of pre-existing data. The ability of these digital systems to represent real or imaginary objects has sparked debate about their potential impacts and about the evolution of the disciplines of drawing and representation. This paper presents a teaching experiment conducted in the 2025-26 academic year within several courses at the Politecnico di Milano, offered in both the Schools of Architecture and Design. The aim of the research is to define a usage protocol that contributes to the formulation of a theoretical model for the teaching and informed use of these tools in the design field.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
