The analysis of electromagnetic transient phenomena in power networks requires equivalent circuits. For this purpose, an efficient way to obtain an R-L Cauer Ladder Network representation of high voltage ac shielded three-core cables is proposed here. The Cauer Ladder Network method is applied to a Partial Element Equivalent Circuit formulation modelling a shielded cable to extract a ladder circuit that takes into account the current distribution in both conductors and shields. This is used to compute the transient currents in a simple electric network, obtaining a good agreement with a benchmark magneto-quasi-static FEM-based model.

Abstract
The analysis of electromagnetic transient phenomena in power networks requires equivalent circuits. For this purpose, an efficient way to obtain an R-L Cauer Ladder Network representation of high voltage ac shielded three-core cables is proposed here. The Cauer Ladder Network method is applied to a Partial Element Equivalent Circuit formulation modelling a shielded cable to extract a ladder circuit that takes into account the current distribution in both conductors and shields. This is used to compute the transient currents in a simple electric network, obtaining a good agreement with a benchmark magneto-quasi-static FEM-based model.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
