Between 1927 and 1940, Giuseppe Pagano developed an innovative exhibition language that combined architecture, art, and technology. Beginning with his participation alongside the group of “architetti novatori” in Turin during the Valentino Exhibition of 1928, Pagano experimented with new forms of display and with the pedagogical use of exhibition spaces. After moving to Milan, he became an active protagonist of the Triennials, introducing modern housing models, experimental pavilions, and exhibitions devoted to building materials, with the aim of educating the public’s taste toward a new design culture. His central role in shaping a complex exhibition strategy culminated in the Paris Exposition of 1937 and in the 1940 Triennale, where the concepts of standardization and serial production emerged as pivotal themes in the architectural debate.
